CORPORATE RELATIONSHIPS:
2008 Wally Joyner & Friends Golf Classic Celebrity golfers teed off at the annual Wally Joyner & Friends Golf Classic at Mesa Verde Country Club in Costa Mesa to raise money for Miller Children's Hospital. Over 140 golfers paired up with a celebrity to enjoy a day of golf and philanthropy. The tournament raised more than $110,000 for the Building for Children: Heroes Helping Heroes capital campaign. The funds will help construct the new 124,000 square-foot pavilion - a leading edge, environmentally friendly hospital due to be complete in late 2009.

Team Spirit Breast and Ovarian Cancer 10k Walk The Team Spirit team, a group of volunteers who help organize the Team Spirit Breast and Ovarian Cancer 10k Walk, presented a check to the Memorial Medical Center Foundation for a record breaking $140,000! More than 1,000 cancer survivors, friends, family members and Long Beach Memorial employees walked the streets of Naples and Belmont Shore on Sept. 26 to raise money for cancer treatment, support groups and research at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center.
Team Spirit is dedicated to raising money for providing support of and promoting awareness in the treatment, research and emotional well-being of breast and ovarian cancer patients in the community. Thanks to Ralph's, title sponsor, the walk continues to be a growing success within the Long Beach community.

PARTNERSHIPS IN EXCELLENCE Each year, the Partnerships In Excellence group of business men and women provide philanthropic support for the purchase of needed medical equipment at Long Beach Memorial and Miller Children's Hospital. This year's campaign will focus on the surgical suites of the new Miller Children's Pavilion with the purchase of the C-Arm, a live 3-D X-Ray feed used in nearly every pediatric surgery. Thanks to all the philanthropic support from our Partners we are able to continue to care for the children of our community with cutting edge technology minimizing the risks associated with surgeries.
September presented an active calendar for our Partners - Sept. 17th Jerry and Jan Maize hosted a wonderful mixer as first hand testimony was heard from grateful patient Stephen Hoy on how the C-Arm impacted his successful surgical outcome. Sept. 24th our Senior Partners gathered for the CEO Roundtable event at The Westin in Long Beach and on Sept. 30th our Executive Partners enjoyed a morning of golf at Virginia Country Club, thanks to Sean Miller. THANK YOU to all members - You Make a Difference!
